Motorcycle Security from Harley-Davidson®

Hello,
Lets talk about Motorcycle Security. You bike is your investment and you want to keep it safe. I have some technical information to share with you from Harley-Davidson® about Motorcycle security.

The facts. According to the National Insurances Crime Bureau, a motorcycle is stolen approx. every 9.4 minutes with the recovery rate being only 25%-30%. Since you create your customized dream bikes with lots invested like time, money and hard work, you want to do every thing possible to keep our bike secure.

So, the most effective defense you have against theft whether in a garage or outside, is to use layers of protection. For example use the combination lock and an alarm.

• Lock the ignition, remove the keys and park in well-lit areas.
• Do not store the title in the motorcycle storage compartment.
• Use both a lock and an alarm to deter thieves. No place is totally safe, not even your property.

If possible, secure the motorcycle to a stationary or immobile object.

Motorcycle Cover Alarm P/N 69000038
It is a self-contained alarm and protects a covered motorcycle from tampering. It fits into the pocket on select Harley-Davidson® motorcycle covers and has a weatherproof alarm that is powered by a replaceable 9V battery (not included). It works this way:

• Snap swivel clips to spokes, rotors and other fixed parts.
• Cord leads back to the alarm pin.
• If the cover is pulled off the bike, the pin is pulled, triggering the 130-dB alarm.

This kit secures the brake disc or sprocket. The bright orange lock color and handy reminder cord provide visibility to the user and added theft deterrence. This lock kit is Thatcham Category 3 approved and has many appealing features.

Fully removable 14mm shackle with large inside diameter to simplify the capture of chain links and cable loops

Tough-to-defeat, high-security double deadbolt design and anti-float disc lock cylinder

Soft nylon coating on the shackle and lock prevents scratches to the motorcycle’s finish
