The Right Fit For Your Bike

Are you experiencing the right fit on your motorcycle?
Proper fit  has a huge impact on how you relate to your motorcycle in terms of handling, safety, comfort and enjoyment. Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories offers a wide range of items designed just to enhance fit on Harley-Davidson® motorcycles.

Here are some signs of poor fit:

• Backache - Lower back pain while riding can result from the seat, foot position and/or handlebar type.

• Balancing on toes -If you are not able to plant feet solidly on the ground when stopping it may leave you feeling like you lack control.

• Knees too high - A cramped riding position puts unnecessary strain on the knees, hips, feet and back.
  
• Tired hands - A grip diameter that does not match the size of the riders hands can be very tiring.
  
• Overextended reach - Stretching too far to reach the handlebar can adversely affect the shoulders, neck, arms and back and can make it tough to handle a bike in tight spaces. 

So, to correct these fit issues, there are four key areas to concentrate on:
Ride Height, Seat Placement, Hand Position, and Foot Position.

Super Reduced Reach® Solo Seat 
The scooped, bucket-shape saddle features added back support to move the rider 1 to 2 inches lower and up to 3 inches forward, closer to the controls. The design also brings the legs about 1 inch closer together, making it easier to plant feet firmly on the pavement.

The thick padding and deep bucket design put the rider’s body into a proper Touring position while providing lower back support.

Tallboy® Seat
Compared to a stock seat, the Tallboy® seat moves the rider back 1.75 to 2 inches and up 0, 2 or 3 inches, helping taller riders stretch their legs and stay more comfortable.

The perfect combination of foam density and shape creates an extremely comfortable, long-haul Touring seat. A wide seating area cushions rider, while the narrow nose makes it easier for their feet to make contact with solid ground.



HANDLEBARS

A rider’s overall height, arm reach, upper-body length and riding style determine their reach to the hand controls as well as their overall comfort and feeling of control. 

• Reduced Reach Handlebars

Designed to bring the controls closer to the rider for increased comfort, these handlebars offer more pullback than stock vehicle handlebars, and are available for several different models.

• Tallboy® Handlebars

These handlebars are higher than stock handlebars and provide a more comfortable hand position for longer-armed riders. Versions are available for Touring models.

• Mini-Ape Handlebars

For riders wanting a combination of style and comfort, these handlebars offer more rise for a fists-in-the-wind hand position, and are available for most models in both chrome and black finishes.


FOOT CONTROLS 
Footboards position the feet just ahead of the knee for an upright riding posture. 

• Adjustable Highway Peg Mounting Kits

An angled arm design clears fairing lowers and allows the arms to be raised and lowered for a custom fit.

Add a stretched-out style and extended riding position to Sportster® models. The complete kit includes all hardware needed to convert a Sportster® model from mid-controls to forward controls. Available in a choice of finishes. Footpegs and shifter peg not included.
