Rain Gear provides some very important benefits when the weather changes to the wet side. Just how, do these features benefit you? Let's look at some of them.
3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Materials
What it does: 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Materialuses "retroreflection" technology which utilizes microscopic glass beads or prisms built into the material using proprietary technology that reflects light back to its original source, such as other motorists. All Harley-Davidson® MotorClothes® apparel with 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material has a minimum candlepower of 200, meaning the wearer is visible from up to 500 feet away in clear riding conditions. Benefits to you: 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material provides riders with Enhanced Rider Visibility, meaning they are more visible in low-light or nighttime conditions when illuminated by a light source, such as headlights.
Anti-Slip Material on Seat
What it does: Material strategically located on the rear of the rain pant that provides traction during wet riding conditions when the seat can get slippery.
Benefits to you: Helps rider to stay put in wet riding conditions.
Breathable
What it does: As the body perspires, breathable materials allow the perspiration to evaporate from the skin and escape from the garment while retaining waterproof properties. When moisture is allowed to escape the rider retains a more even body temperature without the clamminess that can occur when moisture is trapped near the skin with non-breathable materials (like PVC or rubber).
Benefits to you: Helps keep the rider dry and comfortable in inclement weather.
Bungee Cord
What it does: A cord usually either at the waist, collar or hem that tightens or loosen the fit. The cord is designed to be used easily with one hand.
Benefits to you: Allows the rider to adjust the fit of the garment with just one hand.
Heat Resistance Shields
What it does: A layer of fabric that acts like an insulator, which keeps heat away from the rider’s inner legs.
Benefits to you: Provides the rider with greater comfort by obstructing heat that is being generated near the inner legs while riding.
