FXRG® Riding Gear

Enthusiasts,

98379-12VM
Hope you are having a great September. The weather has been just wonderful. The cooling down makes me very happy. You all know how technology is changing, right? It changes sometimes faster than the weather.

I wanted to tell you about Harley-Davidson® FXRG® and how it changes. As riding technology advances, so does Harley-Davidson® FXRG® Riding Gear design. FXRG® riding gear is the most durable and functional gear available and is designed to enhance comfort and performance. FXRG® riding gear is built to last and has a limited lifetime warranty that Harley-Davidson® stands behind. I thought you might like to know some cool benefits the FXRG® line offers.

98040-12VM

Benefits to you:

  • You stay dry without having to change into separate rain gear.
  • You have 10 times more abrasion resistance in key impact areas like elbows and shoulders.
  • You are wind-proofed and water-proofed and still have breathability with FXRG®.
  • The warmth liner can be worn separately as a lightweight jacket.
  • Cool off easily by unzipping the front and back vents.
  • Lightweight body armor included.
  • Removable kidney belt.
  • Be seen with all the reflective materials used to make you more visible.
  •  Lots of exterior pockets, so you can stash away all of your goodies for the ride.

98368-12VW
This next generation includes a combination of new styles as well as updated existing styles. Look for these features:
Waterproof leather, saturated completely with water repellent treatment and with the addition of the Cocona® Natural Technology™ membrane, the FXRG® leather jackets are fully waterproof to keep the elements out without needing a change into separate rain gear.

Waterproof Textile Fabric: Lightweight, waterproof, windproof, abrasion-resistant and tear resistant high denier nylon is combined with a Cocona® Natural Technology™ membrane to create a 100% waterproof jacket that’s breathable and durable.

SuperFabric® Brand Materials. SuperFabric® brand materials use a technology that bonds micro-armor to fabric for exceptional performance, protection and comfort. When placed in key impact areas like the elbows and shoulders, SuperFabric® brand materials provide up to 10 times greater abrasion resistance.

Cocona® Natural Technology™ Membrane. The Cocona® membrane lies between the outershell and the mesh lining of the jacket. This technology uses naturally derived fibers from coconut shells and other natural micro porous particles to provide unprecedented breathability while maintaining the ultimate in windproof and waterproof performance.

97377-12VM

Cocona® Natural Technology Mesh Lining. Naturally derived from coconut shells and other active particles, when used as the mesh lining. Cocona® fabrics are extremely breathable providing exceptional evaporative cooling and odor resistance. Unlike topical treatments, Cocona® technology is embedded into the fibers of a fabric so it will not wear out or wash off.

Pirmaloft® Removable Warmth Liner. The PrimaLoft® fabric removable warmth liner offers superior warmth in a lightweight and water-repellent shell. An added bonus: it can also be worn on its own as a lightweight casual jacket.

Waterproof Zippered Vents: When the ride gets a little too warm, get a continual burst of cool air by unzipping the front and back vents. Waterproof zippers keep you dry when extra cooling isn’t needed.

Lightweight Body Armor. Geared to absorb energy upon impact at key stress points like the elbows and shoulders. CE-approved body armor provides added protection when needed most.

98524-09VM
Removable Kidney Belt. Designed to provide maximum stability and comfort of the torso and lower back. When worn correctly pulled through the jacket lining and cinched snuggle. It stays where it should – close to the body.

YKK® Zippers & Branded FXRG® Pulls. All jackets feature durable zipper pulls and waterproof YKK® Finguard® zippers which reduce the risk of snagging.

Reflective Piping Graphics. Be seen with 3M™ Scotchlining™ Reflective Material. Used for graphics, piping and taping, reflective materials increased rider visibility on the road.

98525-12VM
Exterior Pocket System. Keep everything in its place with a new front pocket system on select styles. Unzip the large waterproof front panels to reveal plenty of pockets for exceptional storage options.

Limited Lifetime Warranty. FXRG® riding gear is built to last. And with a limited lifetime warranty on select FXRG® styles, customers know we stand behind it.

Dry up questions about Rain Gear!

It is no secret that this summer has been extremely dry. I was shocked when I noticed a large crack in my yard dirt, that extended from where the yard started at my house foundation, out about 15 ft. It made me think of those cartoons where the ground splits and there is no bottom in site. I guess, I need to pull out the water hose and spray my yard. Anyways, I thought this would be good time to tell you about how to pick the best Harley-Davidson® Rain Gear for your riding purposes. I heard it may rain here locally tonight and since the season change is right around the corner we may need some rain gear. So...

What is the Good, Better, Best of Harley-Davidson® Rain Gear?

Ladies - Ride Comfortable!

98388-11VW

98389-11VW
Well, ladies get ready - Harley-Davidson® has developed a great new system just for women to keep you comfortable while riding in various weather conditions. The Women’s Rider Comfort System has integrated customizable layers. It is designed to be a 3 part system that has a base layer for moisture management, a mid-layer for extra insulation and an outer layer for protection. Put them all together and you have the total Rider Comfort system.

Here are some specifics, so if you are not into details you can skip the next three paragraphs and see some of the Rider Comfort System pieces below.

Why the base layer is important!

Moisture management is the first step in creating a total system, and one many riders skip. Performance fabrics are designed to wick moisture away from the body so that it can evaporate quickly, something cotton t-shirts can’t do. Wicking fabrics keep your skin dry, which is important in maintaining a consistent body temperature. Base layers are designed to fit snugly to the body for maximum wicking ability. For a roomier fit, it’s a good idea to size up.

Mid-Layers - Insulate!

The Mid-Layer helps insulate the body to retain heat by trapping air next to the skin. In cold weather, this layer keeps the body warm so that less energy is wasted on the body temperature control and more energy can be spent focusing on the ride. Mid-Layers are designed to fit snugly to the body for best heat management. For a roomier fit, it’s a good idea to size up. Just be sure the mid-layer still fits comfortable beneath the outer layer and doesn’t gap at the waist to ensure proper protection from the elements.

98383-11VW
Outer Layer adds functionality!

The outer layer helps to further maintain a consistent body temperature and protect the rider from the elements. With options in mesh, nylon and polyester, the rider can add the right outer layer for the riding conditions that day. The outer layer should be roomy enough to fit easily over the other layers, and should not restrict any movement.

Here are the part numbers for the current pieces offered in the Harley-Davidson® Women’s Rider Comfort System, and I’ve added their layer function.

Do you have your Mid-Layers?

Hello again,
I’ve got a lot of cool info to share with you, so you’ll be seeing a lot of posts from me in the next few months. Now, here is some exciting info for you, guys. So, you are all familiar with riding in different weather situations, right? Riding in the rain, wind, cold, hot, etc.

Harley-Davidson® knows that we all have our own style and taste, so they came up with the Mid-Layers system for men. It lets men make their Harley-Davidson® jackets more adaptable to the weather riding conditions.

Don’t worry girls, next time I’ll be telling you about a great system Harley-Davidson® has just for women. It is called the Rider ComfortSystem.

But, back to the men’s Mid-Layers Climate Control System. Here is how it works. Mid-Layers liners use a design technique called body mapping to enhance your comfort and fit. Body mapping utilizes appropriate fabrics and shaping so it reduces bunching and bulk at several stress points.

So, that results in you being able to wear every Mid-Layer piece comfortably under any Harley-Davidson® jacket. You can wear them alone or as a separate outerwear piece.
You have your base layer (which is the shirt you decide to wear on any particular day). Then you have your Mid-Layer which serves as an insulation layer, currently Harley-Davidson® has 4 to choose from. Top it off with your outer layer (which is your jacket made of leather or textile). There are four mid-layers pieces.

Mid-Layers Jacket liner 98206-12VM is windproof, with water-resistant polyester body. It has extended poly-spandex cuffs with thumbholes to block air from blowing up the sleeve, plus more features.

Mid-Layers Softshell Hooded Jacket Liner 98207-12VM is windproof and has water-resistant 85% polyester, 15% spandex. It has a jersey lined hood, extended cuffs with thumbholes to block air from blowing up the sleeve, plus more features.

Mid-Layers Waterproof Jacket Liner 98204-12VM is waterproof, breathable, and moisture wicking 88% polyester, 12% spandex. It features a storm flap in front, extended cuffs with thumbholes that cover hands to block air from blowing up the sleeve. Two waterproof zipper hand-warmer pockets, plus more.

Mid-Layers Fleece Vest Liner 98205-12VM is 100% polyester fleece with stand up collar, and more.
These four great Mid-Layer pieces can help to equip your Harley-Davidson® jacket to fit your riding style and weather situations but most of all they can make you more comfortable.
Check out all of the possibilities at www.adventureharley.com
Talk to ya soon,
Brenda
