What is Performance Fabric? Performance Harley-Davidson® Clothes

You've probably seen the word Performance popping up in many of our MotorClothes® Apparel descriptions. What is Performance Fabric?

So, lets use some great info from Harley-Davidson® to answer that question. Performance fabrics include features and benefits that are designed to give you greater comfort while you are riding. They keep you cooler in warm weather and warmer in cool weather. They accomplish this by wicking moisture from the skin which can cause you to be cold and clammy. Performance Sportswear can act as a great first layer when you wear it alone or under leathers or functional outerwear.

Some of the performance features you will see are:
Wicking:
Wicking fabrics carry moisture away from the skin, moving it quickly to the surface of the fabric where it can evaporate quickly. It helps you stay drier, even when you perspire. Also, your shirt dries will dry more quickly. Here are some wicking styles.

Note: The pictured styles may have some or all of the Performance features listed above.

Anti-Microbial:
Anit-Microbial combats odors by inhibiting the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mold, mildew and fungus on the fabric. Garments will stay fresher longer providing odor resistance, even after long hours of wear.

UPF-30 Protection:
UPF-30 Protection means a UPF-30 rating is designed to block approximately 96% of the sun's dangerous UV radiation. It provides a layer of protection against sunburn and possible sun damage due to harmful UV rays.

Easy Care:
Polyester is durable, resistant to shrinkage and wrinkling. By blending it with natural fibers like cotton, it provides low-maintenance, easy care options in classic designs. It provides wash and wear flexibility. They are easier to hand-wash on road trips with little or no ironing required, even in woven shirts.
This info will help you understand the benefits of a Harley-Davidson® garment made with performance featured material. The samples I pictured here are just a small sample of what is available. Just look at the description and see if the item you are shopping for has any of the performance features. Have a great week.

  1. Even though I have a garage, I use covers on most of my bikes. I use messy tools like sanders and grinders at the workbench that produce lots of dust. Another advantage is that the covers situated disguise the bikes.
