The weekend is almost here. I have some cool NEW MotorClothes® items to show you. Adventure buyers just got back from the Dealer Show and we have lots of new items that we have added to our website.

First you should check out Get The Look, Pink Label. Great new styles of tops, jackets, activewear pants, jewelry, gloves that have the pink touch and helps to support Breast Cancer Awareness with every purchase that you make. Pink Label came out with a whole new series of the women's Rider Comfort System of layers.
Check these out. The Pink Label Base Layer, the RCS Pink Label Soft Shell Jacket, the RCS Pink Label Functional Jacket. If you've never heard of the Rider Comfort System check out one of our earlier blogs that explain how this system works.

Harley-Davidson® Screamin' Eagle® tuners, enable performance tuning of the Engine Control Module (ECM) to take full advantage of any Screamin' Eagle® performance kits or components that have been installed. 
Here is some technical info from Harley-Davidson® about Screamin' Eagle® Tuners:
It is very important that you understand the proper way of tuning an engine. By incorporating all of the motorcycle's sensor data, the Screamin' Eagle® tuners can precisely program how the engine runs. This process was developed by the Motor Company!
With both the Screamin’ Eagle® Street Performance Tuner and the Pro Super Tuner, the vehicle’s ECM is reprogrammed to optimize horsepower, torque and efficiency.

SMART TUNE LIVE
New for 2013. The software for both the Screamin’ Eagle® Street Performance Tuner and Pro Super Tuner has been enhanced with Smart Tune Live. This new feature allows a rider to view the data being collected while the vehicle is running through the requested rpm, engine load and throttle positions to gather data required to tune. The live table where cells change to green as the rpm and load ranges are met.
The darker the cell, the more data that has been collected. A major advantage of Smart Tune Live is its ability to interpret the data in the cells and recommend revisions as suitable for better drivability and improved mileage. Smart Tune Live only functions on vehicles equipped with factory-installed oxygen sensors.

SCREAMIN’ EAGLE® STREET PERFORMANCE TUNER
The Screamin’ Eagle® Street Performance Tuner is a smart choice for motorcycle owners
because it allows them to get the most street-legal performance out of Stage I and II kits.
It is compliant with both Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board emissions and noise regulations for on-road Harley-Davidson® motorcycles.

SCREAMIN’ EAGLE® PRO SUPER TUNER
For race application only. 
For people going to the track, the Screamin’ Eagle® Pro Super Tuner allows
more tuning freedom for vehicles fitted with Screamin’ Eagle® race-use components.
A base calibration (developed by H-D® Screamin’ Eagle® Engineering) is chosen, then the motorcycle
is run and analyzed to match the air/fuel ratio, spark advance and other inputs closely to the engine’s air flow characteristics to optimize efficiency and performance.

SCREAMIN’ EAGLE® TUNER FUNCTIONS
The software performs three essential functions:
1. Tuning Mode – enables uploads of ECM calibrations specific to the customer’s vehicle year and model. It also allows for tuning of the ECM tables (limited tuning is possible in the Street Performance Tuner).
2. Data Mode – records up to 15 minutes of data to the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) for review and troubleshooting. A range of 27 different data streams can be recorded, including information such as air/fuel ratio, throttle position, spark advance, volumetric efficiency, engine temperature and rpm.
3. Smart Tune Live – allows a rider to run their vehicle through the requested rpm, engine load and throttle positions to gather data required to tune.

Screamin’ Eagle® Street Performance Tuner: For use with ’07-later EFI Dyna,® Softail® and Touring models (except Trike).
Screamin’ Eagle® Pro Super Tuner: For use with ’01-later EFI VRSC,™ XL, XR, Dyna® and Softail® models and ’02-later EFI Touring and Trike models. Also fits VRXSE Destroyer® race bikes.

Heated Parts...Tips you need to know!

Here at the home of Adventure H-D in Dover, OH we are expecting a January thaw this week. That is interesting but here is some much more interesting information from Harley-Davidson® about Heated H-D® parts.


Whenever you have to deal with cold chilly temperatures, Harley-Davidson® heated products are there to make the experience more comfortable. So here is some great technical information from Harley-Davidson®

BASIC THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

With the right preparation and a few well-chosen accessories, there is no reason why colder temperatures should bring you down. Extreme cold poses the greatest challenge to maintaining your comfort due to an increased loss of core body heat and numbing of the extremities. However, even moderately cold conditions can affect your riding experience. With the right accessories, you can warm right up to cold-weather riding!

HEATED HAND GRIPS

Your hand temperature has a major impact on your overall body comfort. Having cold hands can make you extremely uncomfortable and could decrease your reaction time. The best way to keep your hands warm and nimble is with Harley-Davidson® Heated Hand Grips.

These thermostatically controlled grips have six heat settings and “intelligent” heating technology that monitors the surface temperature of your grips and adjusts accordingly.

Understanding Functionality

The intelligent technology of the Heated Hand Grips makes them intuitive. When you remove one hand, both grips will sense the air cooling and the system will try to increase the heat on both sides. You need to be aware that in order to maintain a consistent temperature, you have to keep both hands on the grips, otherwise, you may think the Heated Hand Grips are not working properly. Additional information that’s important to note:

• Grips switch on or off with your ignition to avoid draining the battery

• While your hands are on the grips, the temperature of the heated grips remains constant, regardless of changes in outside temperature

• Having a self-contained control circuit and control knob means you have no additional switches or controller boxes to mount

• The thicker your glove, the less heat that will be transferred (even thin gloves with a padded palm would reduce heat transfer from the grip to your hands)

• The “glueless” grip design allows you to remove the grip when changing handlebars or motorcycles

There are several different styles of Heated Hand Grips available to you and they come in sizes that fit all Harley-Davidson® models.


HEATED SEATS AND BACKREST PAD (52300103 & 52300104)

The Harley-Davidson® Sun Ray® Heated Seat can effectively take away the big chill. Designed to accommodate your individual preferences, this heated seat offers dual-zone rider and passenger controls with separate high/low/off toggle controls (many competitive seats only have “on/off”). The settings are thermostatically controlled so you can maintain optimum temperature. The Sun Ray® Heated King Tour-Pak® Backrest Pad also features two levels of heat control for your passenger.

These heated products meet the extensive Harley-Davidson electrical testing requirements to ensure that all wiring and components are durable and can stand up to harsh environments.

QUICK TIPS

Familiarize yourself with the operation of any Harley-Davidson® heated products you purchase so you understand how the products work to maintain temperature settings at a level you are comfortable with while you ride.

• Heated Hand Grips are designed to gently come up to operating temperature so you can easily regulate and not go past your desired temperature (could take up to 20 minutes)

• Glove-friendly control knobs integrated into the grips make it easy for you to adjust heat settings

• Heated Seats have two heating levels. You can get a quick warm-up on high, before switching to low to maintain a comfortable level of warmth

• Additional warmth from a Heated Seat and Heated Backrest Pad will provide you with increased comfort overall, not just at the source of the heat. This is especially important for longer rides. (Note: Installation of both a Heated Seat and a Heated Backrest Pad will require the separate purchase of a “Y” connector adaptor harness)
